After all Jason's hard work clearing out the pond and putting fresh water back in, we finally have some fish! Just three goldfish to begin with, I'll see how they get on and then venture on to a slightly more exciting breed. We've put a net over the pond to stop our sneaky cat friend from trying to get some dinner. We also keep finding dead frogs in our garden :-(
As for the rest of the garden, the weather has been so terrible lately that I've had barely any chance to do half of what I had planned before our house warming BBQ tomorrow. Bummer! At this rate it's going to be inside anyway. I just hope people realise that the house is not anywhere near how we want it. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for sunshine!
Saturday was spent at my friend Emmi's baby shower. We had afternoon tea, a piƱata and were given super cute goody bags to take home with us. It was so lovely to spend the afternoon with with some awesome ladies.
Yesterday was spent hanging out with Laura and watching The Royal Tenenbaums (one of my favourite films). In the evening Jason and I watched five episode of Mad Men, I can't get enough of it, and I'm really warming up to Don Draper (particularly after seeing him on Graham Norton on Friday night.....I know he's not a real person!)
Today was spent doing the front garden and food shopping. Food shopping is my pet hate, so many decisions to be made, I just can't handle it. Despite my best efforts the front garden still looks a mess, probably due to the massive pile of garden hedge (the same for the back garden too). I did, however, plant up three pots out front: Fushcia, a white Geranium, Nemesia and a lot of Alyssum (it has such a nice scent). I never in a million year would have thought that I would have enjoyed gardening, but I love it. It's so therapeutic and I'm generally an outdoors person, the only thing that ruins it for me are the amount of slugs and snails around, they are starting to become my arch nemesis, especially as they have taking a liking to eating all of my lettuces. Jason also cleared out the conservatory today, it's so nice now almost all the junk has gone, I can escape here and watch the birds (I know how lame that sounds, but I love birds).
Apologies if you have stumbled onto this blog and don't know me/have no interest in doing up a house/garden, it probably seems like the most uninteresting blog ever!
P.S I kind of want to adopt the cat that keeps coming into our garden, right now he sitting outside the conservatory door, jumping up at the handle.
